Soundwise, Absynth doesn't try to emulate anything, but if i could pick up what it's closest sound in hardware is i would pick Roland V Synth. It's a steep learning curve, BUT it will get you there faster. Technically, you could learn everything by following the manual and some help of google. Good side, there is a great manual and great graphical interface. I should also warn that random parameter tweaking in Absynth will get you nowhere. Essentially you need to know all synthesis types, since they are all (more less) covered in this synth. or more for specific things?I do programming for living so maybe i'm a bit biased when i said "some knowledge". Can you define some? For example, if I fully understand a free synth like Tyrell, would I be able to get slowly started with Absynth orĭoes it still require a lot of more knowledge to create even a good sounding basic patch? And is it in general also a good main synth to have for basslines, leads, pads etc.
